BGU: Getting to Know the Intelligence Community

Are you interested in learning more about the world of intelligence and its impact on national security? Then, don't miss out on the upcoming BGU Series titled "Introduction to the Intelligence Community," featuring Dr. Melissa Graves, an Associate Professor at The Citadel and expert in this field. Dr. Graves' research areas include national security legal issues, the US presidency’s relationship to the intelligence community, and intelligence analysis. In this four-week course, she will cover a wide range of topics, including an introduction to the intelligence community, the four functional areas of intelligence, the history of the Intelligence Community, and global trends for 2040. All classes will be held from 3:00pm - 4:00pm in Blackmer Hall Lecture 1: Introduction to Intelligence Community (Tuesday, January 23rd) Lecture 2: The four functional areas of intelligence (analysis, collection, covert operations, and counterintelligence) and intelligence cycle.  (Tuesday, January 30rd) Lecture 3:  History of the Intelligence Community. (Tuesday, February 6th) Lecture 4: Global Trends- broadcasting to 2040.   (Tuseday, February 20th)   Lecture series: $100 or $25 per lecture (four lectures in series)  You must be registered to attend.

Wellness Lecture: Signs & Symptoms of a Heart Attack

Join Dr. Arasi Maran, Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Coronary CTO Program at MUSC for a Presentation on the Signs and Symptoms of a Heart Attack. Dr. Maran will present for 45 minutes and then answer for questions for the remaining 15 minutes of the presentation.

BG Continuum of Care Series 2024: BG at Home, Care Navigator, Apt/Cot. Social Services

The Continuum of Care Series is a 6-week series that walks residents through all of the resources offered at Bishop Gadsden. Through a lunch and learn format, residents will learn about common myths and have an opportunity to ask questions. Please mark your calendar for the sessions below and sign up for each session in BG Life. All sessions are in Blackmer Hall.

This series will take place on Thursdays February 8th- March 14th in Blackmer Hall from 12:00pm-1:00pm.

Lunch will be offered 11:30am.

BGU: The History of Landscape Painting in Western Art WEEK 2

The History of Landscape Painting in Western Art with Rebekah Compton (Monday, February 19 - March 18 at 11:00am) This 4-week course will introduce students to the history of landscapes in Western art. Students will learn about artists from Italy, France, England, and America, who were innovated in the genre of landscape painting between 1500-1900. Students will also gain an understanding of the principles and techniques employed for environmental designs in art. Week 1: Italian Landscapes: Leonardo da Vinci, Giorgione, Titian, Canale (Monday, February 19th, at 11:00am in Blackmer Hall) Week 2: English Landscapes: Gainsborough, Constable, and Turner (Monday, February 26th, at 11:00am in Blackmer Hall) Week 3: American Landscapes : Cole, Bierstadt, Church (Monday, March 11th, at 11:00am in Blackmer Hall) Week 4: French Landscapes: Lorrain, Monet, Cezanne, and Van Gogh (Monday, March 18th, at 11:00am in Blackmer Hall) $25 per class or $100 for whole series BGU Registration_The History of Landscape Painting in Western Art
